Venue

We are happy to announce that Conflux Natcon 2013 will be held at Rydges Capital Hill in Barton, Canberra.

You can book here: http://www.rydges.com/cwp/Conflux2013

It’s a beautiful hotel – built around a central atrium that as you can see is full of trees and greenery. Conflux has access to the full convention space, which has three full sized meeting rooms and some interesting spaces for events.

The dealers/art show area is a particularly nice set up – the dealers can open the room up to the atrium to get a nice space, the space is very easy to secure and they have their own toilets.

Here is a link to the venue’s site.  How to book and other details appear below.

We have a Conflux basic room rate of $160 per night bed and breakfast (for two people). This is a cool deal!

The hotel is situated near Parliament House and within walking distance from Manuka, Canberra’s premier eating location. It surrounded by a number of accommodation options – we’ll put links up for those as the convention approaches.

There’s a commercial bar as part of the hotel – the bar space itself is small but there’s a lot of open space available around it, so attendees should be able to enjoy hanging out late into the night.

Booking a room

There’s now a link to book your room online - http://www.rydges.com/cwp/Conflux2013 Otherwise call the hotel on +61 2 6295 3144 and quote this reference code  F-2504CI  (If you ring to reserve a room then you don’t pay until you arrive at the hotel in 2013.)

The convention rate is available from 24 April to the Sunday night 28 April 2013.

$160 covers two people for a room including two buffet breakfasts in the price.

There are a range of rooms you can book:

  • Superior Queen Room with a Queen Size Bed, 1 sofa bed is upon request
  • Superior Twin Room with Two separate Double Size Beds
  • Superior Queen room with accessible facilities
  • Executive King Suite with a King Size Bed ($180)
  • Embassy Suite with a King Size Bed with a separate lounge area ($200)

Two adults and two children under 12 can share a room at no additional cost. However, for children over 5 and under 12 the breakfast is charged at an additional $12 per child. Children 5 years and under have a complimentary breakfast from the buffet. Cots are complimentary but please request one. They are available subject to availability.

The hotel has advised us that there are additional charges for a third person sharing a room. An additional third person in a room sharing will incur at $74.00 charge, which includes a breakfast. You cannot negotiate a price without the breakfast, because of the nature of our deal. The additional charge covers additional towels, servicing, and set up if a sofa bed is required.

Because of the additional charges it is not cost effective for 4 people to share a room and the hotel advised that they have limited occupation in the rooms to three adults.

The other thing to note is that other discounts do not apply for the accommodation but priority cards can be use for discounts on meals etc.

Please start your booking now so we can fill up the hotel and have it to ourselves.

If you have any queries please use the contact page. We’ll be happy to answer them.
